The curious case of the Kiwano or ‘Spiked Melon.’

Graham Berry went out to his garden one day to find a very exotic fruit growing from a vine.

Also known as the African horned cucumber, the Kiwano, known for its sweet taste and widespread use in Africa, somehow found its way to Graham Berry’s backyard.

Graham didn’t think much of the strange vine.

Nothing grew from it for 5 or 6 years he reckons, until the strange fruit appeared.

Graham brought it in to The Clifton Courier in his quest to find out just what exactly was growing in his garden.

Graham assured us he would go home and try the fruit.

We’ve received no word.
