Rory is known for his playful picture books filled with humour, rhyme and boundless imagination.

His stories spark creativity, confidence and a love of reading, especially for young readers who may find books a little daunting at first.

Although Rory once struggled with reading himself, he has transformed that challenge into a superpower.

Today he writes engaging books that kids can’t resist, showing that even reluctant readers can grow up to create the stories they once found difficult to finish.

Since publishing his first book in 2020, Rory’s career has soared.

In just four years he has released fourteen picture books through some of Australia’s biggest publishers, and he’s far from finished.

This free, family-friendly author event is the perfect school holiday event for those children who love stories, silliness and creative fun.

About Rory H. Mather

Rory is known for his warm, energetic personality and describes himself as a “big kid” who loves picture books, rhyme, fist bumps, potatoes, sticky date pudding, dogs and, of course, his wife and  daughter.

As a child, he travelled the world with his family aboard a sailboat.

It was an adventure that shaped his imagination (and along with it, taught him that whales have very bad breath!).
