Chad Morgan artwork donated to GLP Hall

Gowrie Little Plain Hall has been presented with a portrait of Chad Morgan by Port Macquarie artist Lorraine Neill.

Mr Morgan, who is 91, performed for the last time on tour in the district at the Gowrie Little Plain Hall in March.

Ms Neill made a special trip up to Caboolture to Mr Morgan’s home in July 2023 for a sit-down for preliminary sketches and painted the work from January to May.

The artwork was an Archibald Prize entry and is a mixed-media, mostly water colour accentuated by a thin black marking pen.

Born in Maryborough a short distance from where Mr Morgan was attending school, Ms Neill has been painting for 77 years.
