Bushfire takes hold near Maryvale

Multiple Rural Fire Service Queensland crews worked tirelessly throughout the weekend at a large vegetation fire burning at Maryvale, Tregony and surrounding areas. At one stage 25 units including the Allora Rural Fire Brigade attended.

A strike team from South East Region worked alongside local firefighters, with waterbombing aircraft assisting ground crews to bring the blaze under control.

The fire had been burning since last Friday with containment lines put in place on Monday morning to slow and stop the spread. On Monday afternoon the Fire Department checked that the fire had been extinguished.
